Back to School Snacks
As the school year approaches, parents are faced with the challenge of finding healthy snacks that their kids will actually eat. With so many options on the market, it can be overwhelming to choose snacks that are not only tasty but also nutritious. In the following post, we will explore some clean and healthy back-to-school snacks that are perfect for busy parents and picky eaters alike. Whether your child is heading off to kindergarten or starting high school, these snack ideas will help fuel their bodies and minds for a successful day of learning.
Whether you have children heading back to school or you are looking for better snacks, this is the blog post for you!

It goes without saying that homemade snacks using real whole foods trumps anything you can find on store shelves.
These snacks are not perfect, but they do not contain the following:
- Artificial flavors
- Artificial colors
- GMO
- High fructose corn syrup
- Highly inflammatory oils (see my blog on oils)
- Most terrible preservatives (BHT, TBHQ, phosphates, carrageenan, etc)
- Natural flavors

Many of these can be found at Kroger, Target, Costco, and Whole Foods while others are on company websites like Truvani and Health Warrior. You can save 20% on Skout bars using my link and code – found on this page.
Although many of the fruit bars and snacks only contain fruit, they should be consumed on occasion. Dried fruit may stick to the surface of teeth and cause cavities. It is also much higher in sugar than real fresh fruit (blood sugar spikes). Choose these snacks on occasion and ideally, pair them with a protein (ex – a handful of nuts).
Have your kids returned to school yet? We start back in another week, and I am really sad about it.
